Participants will learn to plan for exemplar student responses and apply the read/write/discuss/rewrite cycle during guided reading as a way to accelerate the the progress of transitional readers and beyond so that students develop the ability to write in response to text, to refine their ideas through discussion, and to revise their writing so that it demonstrates standards-aligned comprehension of text. In Part 1, participants will select texts based on formative data and plan to orient the reader to the text and the standard.
