Participants will be able to plan & implement explicit, sequenced phonics lessons that maximize student opportunities for practice and engagement in order to support students in their ability to master foundational skills and apply them in the reading and writing of continuous text. In Part 1, participants will plan for and practice strategies to maximize the effectiveness of direct instruction during the skills block.
